Dr. Olajumoke (Jummy) Okoya

Jummy is an International Consultant and an internationally recognised Speaker on Organisational Development and Career Development. She is also a highly experienced Educator, Trainer and Researcher within the public and private sectors with more than two decades of experience. Jummy holds a PhD in Human Resource Management and Entrepreneurship, is Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a Chartered academic member of the CIPD.

She began her career with the NHS in the UK as a training and development facilitator, developing, commissioning and delivering complex new programmes. She has garnered extensive international experience in delivering Training in Learning & Development, Equality & Diversity, Talent Management and Leadership.

As an Equality and Diversity (E&D) expert she leads on developing E&D strategy and develops programmes to improve gender parity, inclusive workplace and the monitoring E&D data. She was instrumental (in a major UK University) in launching of an internal staff network for women as a support system and a vehicle for developing a female talent pipeline to encourage more women into leadership positions growing that network to 350 members in one year.

Jummy has also worked closely with professional bodies such as Chartered Management Institute, Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) in obtaining professional accreditation for several university programmes. She is skilled in programme mapping for exemptions and awards. She is highly skilled in setting up international franchises and managing multiple stakeholders. As a CIPD branch executive, she was instrumental in setting up the East London & Docklands branch.

Jummy is passionate about Career development through her work with the CIPD and she works closely with Business in the Community to strengthen Employer engagement with academic institutions.

She has also served as panel member and subject expert on several programme revalidation exercises, providing guidance on Quality Assurance, delivery and professional accreditation programme validation for Huddersfield University, Leeds Beckett University, etc.

Jummy is also a visiting Lecturer at Imperial College Business School and a visiting professor at Universita’ per stranieri di Perugia, Perugia, Italy. She is a volunteer mentor for Mosaic, CIPD, Young Black professionals and Athena Swan. She is also a trustee for Newham Partnership for Complementary Education (NPCE), promoting the cause of teaching in more foreign languages and supporting supplementary education.

Jummy has presented at several international conferences: (International Academy of African Business and Development( IAABD conference in Morocco & Ghana), Institute for small business and entrepreneurship (ISBE conference in Dublin), Emerging Research paradigms in Business and Social sciences (ERPBS, hosted by Middlesex university in Dubai).
